Two great men.The year 2015 will be marked by a double commemoration: the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 50th anniversary of the death of Churchill. The exhibition Churchill and De Gaulle will examine the lives of the two men, their origins, their backgrounds and their careers until their deaths. Objects, speeches, audiovisual archives and archival materials are presented to the public often for the first time. These items illustrate the evolution of relations between of these two great figures whose destinies were linked. During this exhibition, two tanks, one French (the "B1 Bis") and the other British ("Matilda Mk II"), will be presented in front of the north facade of Les Invalides. Both tanks were used during the campaign in France in 1940.
