Разнообразная по содержанию демонстрация фильмов и выдуманных историй, рабочих зарисовок и рисунков из жизни чудака и гения Параджанова.

Выставка рассказывает о великом феномене не только советско-российского, но и мирового кинематографа – Сергее Параджанове. Он – автор признанных во всем мире картин, таких как «Тени забытых предков», «Цвет граната» и др., которые также будут показаны в рамках выставки.

Обстановка экспозиции больше напоминает антикварный магазинчик, экспонатов тут большое множество, они на каждом шагу и все сплошь разные и непохожие: фотографии самого режиссера, снятые его личным хронологом и учеником, эскизы к фильмам, керамические объекты и куклы, киноафиши и плакаты. Посетители окунутся в мир парадоксального и самобытного творчества выдумщика, фантазера и настоящего мастера своего дела – Сергея Параджанова.

Renaissance and Baroque Bronzes from the Hill Collection

The Frick Collection will be the only venue for the first public exhibition of this private collection devoted to the bronze figurative statuette. The nearly forty sculptures included in the show are of exceptional quality and span the fifteenth through the eighteenth century, exemplifying the genre from its beginnings in Renaissance Italy to its dissemination across the artistic centers of Europe. The Hill Collection is distinguished by rare, autograph masterpieces by Italian sculptors such as Andrea Riccio, Giambologna, and Giuseppe Piamontini. Its holding of works by the Giambologna school evokes the splendor of the late Renaissance courts, while the richness of the international Baroque is represented by Alessandro Algardi’s religious sculptures and by a remarkable assemblage of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century French bronzes in the classical mode. The Hill Collection reveals the range of artistry, invention, and technical refinement characteristic of sculptures created when the tradition of the European statuette was at its height. The exhibition is accompanied by an illustrated scholarly catalogue edited by Patricia Wengraf with contributions by Claudia Kryza-Gersch, Dimitrios Zikos, and Denise Allen, organizing curator of the exhibition at The Frick Collection

THE SERENISSIMO PRINCE. HISTORY AND STORIES OF DOGES AND DOGARESSAS

In the renovated space of the Doge’s Apartment in Palazzo Ducale, the exhibition aims to tell – through works from the prestigious collections of the Museo Correr, its library and its drawing cabinet, prints and numismatics – the historical evolution of this symbol, which returns in paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, coins, medals and insignia of traditional power, in memory of the extraordinary life of a world collapsed in 1797 and later immortalized in the size of the myth.

The scenic itinerary starts with three important pictorial representations of the Lion of St. Mark, the work of Jacobello del Fiore (1415), Donato Veneziano (1459) and Vittore Carpaccio (1516), which is the preface to the beautiful portraits of the Doge Francesco Foscari, Alvise Mocenigo and Leonardo Loredan, respectively by Lazzaro Bastiani, Giovanni Bellini and Carpaccio, among which the latter highlighted the image of the prince as a real icon of the Serenissima. The Portrait of Sebastiano Venier by Andrea Vicentino closes the series of the doges that have made grown Venice with the use of weapons, which culminated in the Battle of Lepanto.

A part of the exhibition is dedicated to the figure of the dogaressas such as Morosina Morosini Grimani (1595-1605), of whom is displayed a portrait attributed to Palma il Giovane and a celebrative painting of her coronation, and Elizabeth Querini Valier (1694-1700), the fourth and last wife of a “Serenissimo” to officially receive a public investiture.

Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined at Royal Academy Of Arts

The Royal Academy welcomes some of the most creative architectural minds in the world as they launch Sensing Spaces: Architecture Reimagined.

Setting something of a tricky task, the RA have asked architects to come up with work that will give visitors a completely new experience when they walk through the doors.

Architects have the chance to use all the tools at their disposal – including structures, scents, lighting and colour – to transform the Main Galleries and to ask fundamental questions about the architectural discipline.

The project is nothing without the all-important visitors, who are required to arrive and interact with the surroundings so that they realise their full potential. By touching, climbing, sitting, walking and contemplating, it’s you who’ll bring this exhibition to life.

Первая часть проекта, включавшего также образовательную программу и издание каталога, была представлена в сентябре – ноябре 2013 года. Вторая часть выставки продолжает основную тему проекта и расскажет о художественной жизни Москвы с 1995 по 2000 год.

У обеих частей выставки Реконструкция – единая концепция, которая остается неизменной – мы реконструируем и исследуем основные тенденции и знаковые проекты 90-х. Принцип экспозиции в пространстве Фонда культуры «ЕКАТЕРИНА» остается соответственно тем же – проекты группируются по галереям, потому что мы – на основании архивных материалов, любезно предоставленных научным отделом Центра современной культуры «Гараж» – показываем трех основных участников художественного процесса 90-х – художников, галереи и аутентичные тексты критиков, либо опубликованные в периодической прессе того времени, либо в пресс-релизах к выставкам. В пространство каждой галереи, помимо реконструированных проектов и подлинных артефактов – обязательно включена сохранившаяся видеодокументация. Мне крайне важно никого не забыть и продолжить процесс реконструкции знакового времени в легальной истории художественной жизни Москвы. Вторая часть разительно отличается от первой и сменой участников (закрылись и Центр на Якиманке, галерея 1.0, Школа, Риджина не работала долгие пять лет, L галерея утратила лидирующие позиции) и общей энергетикой. Соответственно – перераспределяются и основные фигуранты и тенденции художественного контекста. Противостояние и неявный диалог между представителями концептуальной школы и художников круга Осмоловского-Кулика-Бренера – сходят «на нет». Лидирующую роль на карте современного искусства Москвы берет на себя галерея Гельмана, да и основные тенденции художественной жизни пятилетия – несколько радикализуются. С некоторым опозданием относительно интернационального контекста – Москву буквально накрывает «проблема телесности», метки которой проявляются в творчестве очень разных художников, от радикалов и классиков концептуализма, до представителей неоакадемической линии. Интересно так же, что именно вторая половина 90-х уже содержит в себе зародыши форм и направлений, которые приобретают свою актуальность именно сейчас, спустя почти двадцать лет. Так «Урановый проект» (С. Шурипа, М. Ухов, П. Филипов), показанный в Айдан галерее – породил целую плеяду художников, активно работающих с наследием русского авангарда в новом его преломлении, поиски Леонида Тишкова в переработанном виде встречаются в творчестве молодых авторов, фемининизм – слабо мерцающий во второй половине 90-х невероятно актуализируются в настоящее время

Exposition organisée par la Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais en collaboration avec le musée national des châteaux de Malmaison et Bois-Préau.

East Meets West: Byzantine Illumination at the Cultural Crossroads

The glittering courts of the Byzantine Empire (A.D. 330–1453) have long been admired for their rich tradition of manuscript illumination. The prominent use of gold, a striking sense of naturalism, and a distinctive spiritual character were among the widely celebrated aspects of Byzantine art in the Middle Ages. These qualities inspired artists and patrons in other Christian locales, including western Europe, Armenia, and Ethiopia. Primarily drawn from the Getty Museum's collection, this exhibition also features important loans in partnership with Heaven and Earth: Art of Byzantium from Greek Collections, on view at the Getty Villa from April 9 through August 25, 2014.

Анатолий Зверев. На пороге нового музея

 Выставочный проект является важным шагом к открытию в Москве уникального Музея Анатолия Зверева (Музей АЗ) – одного из недооцененных мастеров отечественного искусства ХХ века. Экспозиция представляет открытия и находки, связанные с творчеством художника и его будущим музеем: от концепции «Музея АЗ» (проектирование и строительство которого продолжается) до только что обретенных произведений, которые неизвестны даже специалистам.

Значение и ценность наследия Анатолия Зверева раскроет мультимедийная инсталляция, которая объединит все манежное пространство. Она призвана погрузить в мир художника,  провести его через многообразие жанров и форм его творчества.

Основу выставки составляет произведения из собрания великого коллекционера Георгия Костаки, которые передала в дар музею Алики, дочь Георгия Дионисовича. В Новом Манеже будут представлены около 300 работ 1957-1960 годов, одного из самых плодотворных периодов в творчестве художника.

Отдельный зал будет посвящен результатам издательской работы «Музея АЗ». Речь идет об уникальных книгах и альбомах с ранее неизвестными произведениями художника. Специально к выставке готовятся уникальный альбом-исследование «Анатолий Зверев. 100 автопортретов» и каталог.

Kevin Coates: A Bestiary of Jewels

Dr. Kevin Coates is a multi-talented artist-goldsmith and sculptor who creates virtuoso jewels in gold, precious stones, shells, and other exotic materials. His work is both exquisite and fantastical. Following his successful solo exhibition at the Wallace Collection in London in 2011, Coates has been working on an ambitious new project, “A Bestiary of Jewels”, pairing a creature with its significant human, with the jewel mounted in a bestiary ‘page’, in a poetic elaboration on the theme of the medieval encyclopaedias known as Bestiaries.

Giorgio de Chirico: Myth and Mystery

Twenty sculptural works and a selection of drawings and paintings by the 'father of metaphysical art'.

Born in Greece to Italian parents, Giorgio de Chirico studied painting in Athens, Florence and Munich, developing a fascination with classical subject matter. Influenced by Symbolism and the philosophies of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, de Chirico spent the early 1900s establishing  what would become the key iconography of Metaphysical painting; mannequins, illogical perspectives juxtaposed with everyday objects and deserted city squares. Around this time he is quoted as declaring 'to be really immortal a work of art must go beyond the limits of the human: good sense and logic will be missing from it. In this way it will come close to a dream state and also to the mentality of children'.

Painters and poets gravitated towards what became identified as the 'Scuola metafisca', including de Chirico's younger brother – known under the pseudonym Alberto Savinio –​ as well as the Surrealist group emerging out of Paris in the 1920s. Although de Chirico would revisit Metaphysical iconography throughout his career, his work moved into other fields of exploration, from Renaissance and Baroque inspired imagery to an entire series devoted to gladiators and galloping horses. During the 1930s he was also experimenting with sculpture, creating terracotta versions of the characters that populated his painting and by the 1960s he had expanded into bronze, faithfully reworking his figures into three dimensions using the same stylistic qualities from the pictures in which they first appeared.

Spanning 40 years of de Chirico's career, the exhibition charts the artists obsession with certain subjects, themes and motifs, both in painting and sculpture.

Hannah Höch

Acerbic, astute and funny, Hannah Höch was an important member of the Berlin Dada movement and a pioneer in collage

Splicing together images from popular magazines, illustrated journals and fashion publications, Höch's satirical collages chronicle the intense social change that characterised the early 1900s.

Among the most radical works of the time, Höch never shied away from controversy. For example, Hochfinanz (High Finance) sees notable figures collaged together with emblems of industry; a humorous critique of the relationship between financiers and the military at the height of the economic crisis in Europe.

While she earned the admiration of many of her contemporaries – such as George Grosz, Theo van Doesburg and Kurt Schwitters – she has often been overlooked in traditional art history.

This exhibition spans the full six decades of Höch's career, combing over 100 examples of collages, photomontages, watercolours and woodcuts drawn from prominent international collections.

As well as the iconic images she produced during the Dada period, the display includes early works inspired by her time working in the fashion industry and the vibrant cut-outs produced towards the end of her career, such as Um Einen Roten Mund (Around a Red Mouth) which incorporates colour-print red lips, petticoats and crystals.

Знаменитая выставка Van Gogh Alive, подготовленная австралийской компанией Grande Exhibitions, будет представлена в центральном зале ARTPLAY. Гостей события ждет полное погружение в мир фантазий известного всему миру художника Винсента Ван Гога. Создатели выставки объединили его творчество, современные технологии и одни из лучших образцов классической музыки. Все вместе производит огромное впечатление.

Полотна гения, а также изображения мест, окружавших художника, транслируются на огромных экранах, установленных на стенах, полу и потолке. Анимационные эффекты позволяют расставлять нужные акценты, не давая зрителям пропустить самые важные детали. Экспозиция включает порядка трех тысяч изображений. Зрелище дополняет объемное звучание классической музыки. Композиции подобраны таким образом, чтобы максимально точно передать настроение, которое охватывало художника во время написания работ.

В рамках выставки будут продемонстрированы картины Ван Гога, созданные им в наиболее плодотворный период его творчества – с 1880-го по 1890-й год. На экранах промелькнет «Ночная терраса кафе», «Автопортрет с отрезанным ухом и трубкой», «Звездная ночь над Роной», «Ваза с двенадцатью подсолнухами» и многие другие знаменитые шедевры живописи.
